Discussion: 
Over the weekend our weather was dominated by a low pressure system that moved across the Northern Great Plains towards the Northeast bringing high winds and precipitation to Columbia. Throughout the day we will see its effects dwindle as skies clear and high pressure sets in. However, Northerly winds from the westernmost part of the low pressure system will allow today's high temperature to be cooler. After today, the high pressure will dominate and persist through Wednesday bringing stable conditions and seasonal weather.

A general model blend was used for this forecast period. An occluded low pressure system moved across the Northern Great Plains into the Northeast. There was a strong pressure gradient associated with this system putting Columbia under a high wind advisory with wind gusts as high as 40mph. As the low moved off to the East, our winds died down and shifted to a Northwest component. This flow will funnel in dry cool air and move moisture out of the area, resulting in clearing skies.

Northerly winds will bring cooler air for Monday with the high temperature reaching only 38-42 degrees Fahrenheit. High pressure will move in from the Southwest bringing stable conditions and a persistent forecast. A high pressure system over Northern Texas and Southern Oklahoma will result in Westerly winds and slightly warmer temperatures on Tuesday. This will persist into Wednesday. Dry air will result in minimal, if any, cloud cover throughout the forecast period.
