Discussion: Seasonable temperatures are here to stay for the remainder of the week.  Weak high pressure will linger to our northeast and maintain the steady flow of drier, temperate easterly winds. The approach of Hurricane Florence to the East Coast of the United States has slowed the usual progression of our west-to-east weather in Mid-Missouri.  Several weak storm systems will pop up to our west over the next few days, but will remain weak and travel quickly into Canada.

Technical Discussion (The nerdy stuff we are discussing in class!)
Persistence is the word of the day.  Current conditions will persists for the next few days as the pattern stagnates.  These are the situations where MOS performs the best, and have tweaked those numbers slightly for verification off of Sanborn Field.  The temptation exists to go for more aggressive drift upward in time, but given that it is September and days are rapidly becoming shorter, the slow climb within the MOS messages mirrors reality quite well.
