Discussion:

Temperatures will remain below average for Friday but these clouds will move their way out of our area! Heading into the weekend, temperatures will rocket back into the 50s with a few straggling clouds.

Technical Discussion:

Both the NAM and the GFS resolved upper-level features similarly to what was observed. Because both of these are in close agreement and both were accurate in predicting observed data we confidently used both models for our forecast. The main focus of this forecast was the temperatures increasing over the weekend.

At the time of writing this, the low-pressure system prompting severe weather in the Mississippi Valley region is being pushed by a trough to the northeast taking moisture at all levels with it. This trough will break down, allowing a ridge to become the main source of our clear weather for the weekend. Winds will shift from the northwest to the south by Friday evening bringing temperatures back up from below-average to above-average. Moisture begins to build back in late Saturday night in the upper levels, but lower-level moisture is sparse. Enough WAA is present for possible upper-level sprinkles, but lower levels will likely be to dry for any precipitation to reach the ground. Clouds will only be present overnight Saturday with a clearing sky on Sunday.
