Friday, sunshine returns with fall like temperatures however, by Saturday, clouds begin increasing. Spotty showers are expected during Saturday afternoon as a cold front passes through the area. Clouds linger through Sunday and the temperature will continue decreasing slightly.

Technical Discussion (The nerdy stuff we are discussing in class!)

Friday there is a ridge over Missouri stacking down through the levels which is responsible for clear skies and mild temperatures. Winds begin shifting from an easterly direction to a southerly direction Friday night into Saturday morning. These southerly winds will draw in the moisture needed to support showers Saturday afternoon.

Friday there is a low centered over north Washington that will begin moving on an eastward trek. By Saturday morning as the low approaches cloud cover will increase and as the low passes through during the afternoon and early evening we will see spotty showers due to the combination of the frontal passage and available moisture. These showers will have minimal impact as only a tenth of an inch of rain is expected. After the frontal passage temperature will decrease slightly. Sunday spotty clouds will remain. Temperature will be slight cooler throughout the day due to a short wave trough that lingers in Missouri.
