Discussion:

Warm weather will continue into the weekend due to warm southerly wind. This southerly wind will cause high humidity, so expect an increase in cloud coverage into the weekend. This summer-like humidity will bring warm temperatures to game day. Saturday we will see cloud cover increasing into the night. Although we will see some clouds, precipitation is not expected for the weekend.

Technical Discussion:

The 12Z run of GFS was utilized for this forecast due to its handling of moisture content and advection associated with the high pressure located over southeastern Missouri during the weekend. The problem of the day is tracking said moisture and estimating times of cloud cover, along with how it will affect  temperatures throughout the weekend. Precipitation is not expected with this cloud cover.

Winds at 250mb remain west-southwest throughout the entirety of the period due to the zonal flow. Divergence aloft on Saturday night, along with available moisture, will lead to upper level cloud cover. These clouds following the high temperature on Saturday will lead to a warmer night on Saturday.

500mb shows more of the same, with southerly winds due to the wraparound flow from the high pressure in the southeastern CONUS. Vorticity advects into Missouri Friday evening due to a shortwave trough forming over Kansas.

Strong southerly flow along with moisture advecting into mid-Missouri at 700mb on Friday evening indicated the likelihood of cloud cover, which was looked into further at more levels on GFS soundings. Partly cloudy conditions are expected Friday evening into Saturday morning, along with Saturday night. Winds at 850mb begin to trend southeast, advecting moisture from the Gulf into Missouri. These winds, along with solenoids at the surface, indicate WAA throughout the period, causing warm, humid conditions to dominate the forecast.
