Discussion:
A low pressure system centralized in the Southern Plains is currently affecting our local weather by serving as a driving factor for increased cloud cover and colder temperatures this morning. Both temperatures and sunshine will begin to increase as the day progresses. As this low pressure system begins to decay a high pressure system will quickly develop creating warm and dry persisting conditions for this weekend. Make the most of the lovely spring time weather for this weekend!

Technical Discussion (The nerdy stuff we are discussing in class):
For this forecasting period GFS was used due to accurate reading from temperature and wind conditions. Additionally, GFS modeling properly represented the true location of the current low pressure system located in the Southern Plains.
At 250-mb level from Friday 15Z upper-level low stays southwest of MO.
This low pressure system is positively tilted. The low over the eastern US will help to deepen the ridge over the Central Plains this evening.
At 500-mb level there are circulations to the south over northern Arkansas but not much impact will be felt in mid-MO.
At 700-mb level, on Friday we will experience a cloudy day after a
couple of sunny days mid-week this week. However, this won't stay long
on Saturday morning 18Z the moisture will be leaving the region. In this
forecast period clear skies will be with
us.
At the surface a high pressure system is to the northeast of MO. In
this forecast period, the region will be residing most of the time
upstream of the aforementioned high pressure system. This will bring us
spring-like weather days. At the surface we will
have easterly flow because of the low pressure system to the south.
On Sunday 09Z, there will be southerly wind at surface and this
will be veering in its direction with height aiding in WAA throughout
our area providing the warmer temperatures in the forecast Sunday afternoon.
